The Biomass Boiler

The ETA Hack wood chip boiler is one of the best commercial biomass boilers available. They range from 20kW to 200kW and can be made to run on both wood chip and wood pellet.

The ETA Hack boiler comes with a high-tech automated control unit which means that you can access and control the boiler from anywhere in the world using an app on your phone or by visiting the secure ETA website.

The Package

We specialize in the building of wood fired packages called ‘The Energy Box’, for sites where there is no boiler house or storage facilities, these can be built to the client and site specification with choices of cladding, and come complete with storage, rear out-feeder, transport screw, boiler compartment, internal wiring, internal plumbing, control panel and chimney.

These are built at our workshop and delivered to site and positioned on to a concrete pad for connection to new or existing services adjacent to the package.

The Client

Timber Merchants manufacture and supply wood based products.
As you can imagine, they have a lot of wood left over which won’t be used and will go to waste. But instead of letting this wood go to waste – why not use the wood as a free source of fuel?

Not only will they save a fortune on their fuel bill but they will also earn 8.6p per kW/h under the Government Commercial Renewable Heat Incentive feed-in-tariff which lasts for twenty years.

This means the money they’ll save on their fuel bill will offset the initial cost of the boiler in just a couple of years but they will still be earning 8.6p per kWh for 20 YEARS.

No wonder they thought it was a great investment.

Installing a biomass boiler

If you are thinking of installing a biomass boiler there are first many questions you must answer.

The first one being – what fuel do you want to burn, wood pellet, wood chip or logs?

Then you must decide where the boiler is going to, whether is be in your house, attic, garage or out-building etc.

When you have decided this, you need to know what size boiler you need. This is something we would work out for you, all we need to know is the size of the property and how much insulation you have. From this, we can work out what size boiler you need.

Once we have this information, we can then show you some boilers that match your requirements.
